DistroKid subscription cancellation
Stopping recurring charges without losing your music.
We are documenting experiences with annual subscriptions and memberships where stopping recurring charges means deleting or losing music. Recurring Album Extras are one example.

Start an inquiryWhat we are documenting
Artists may want to stop an annual membership or another recurring subscription without deleting their releases or losing music from streaming services. We want records of the available cancellation options, what the artist requested, what DistroKid said, what happened to charges and releases, and whether the issue was resolved.
DistroKid's published help page says Album Extras cannot be removed through the release edit page and describes deleting and re-uploading to change them. Its add-on guidance distinguishes recurring subscriptions from one-time extras. Its membership guidance explains how to cancel an account, and its nonrenewal guidance describes music removal and a release-specific Leave a Legacy exception. We review memberships, recurring add-ons, and one-time purchases in their own context. These sources establish published guidance; individual cases and any legal conclusions still need review.

Evidence that helps
- Receipts separating initial purchases, later renewals, and refunds.
- Which membership or subscription was involved, including recurring Album Extras, and which releases were affected.
- Dated cancellation requests and support responses.
- Screenshots showing the options available in the account.
- The actual outcome, including any interruption or loss supported by records.
Keep originals. You do not need to delete your music to contribute, and we do not recommend account actions or provide legal advice.
Campaign reporting
Aggregate counts will be published after review, with definitions and an as-of date. Email-confirmed inquiries, reviewed account-holder reports, affected releases, and charges are different measures.
No aggregate submission counts have been published here. This page does not announce a filed or certified class action.
